Early voting begins Nov. 22 for the Buda City Council and Kyle City Council runoff elections. Election day is Dec. 7. None of the candidates in either election garnered 51% of the votes needed to win the seat in the Nov. 2 election, resulting in the runoff.

The runoff for the Buda At-Large Position 3 seat will be between LaVonia Horne-Williams and Emily Jones. Horne-Williams came close to winning the seat in the Nov. 2 election with 48.92% of the vote while Jones received 33.82%.

The Kyle City Council runoff election is for the District 5 seat between incumbent Rick Koch, who received 35.25% of the vote in the Nov. 2 election, and challenger Daniela Parsley, who received 28.07%.

Early voting for the runoff election will be held Nov. 22-24 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Nov. 27-28 from noon-4 p.m., Nov. 29-Dec. 1 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Dec. 2-3 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Polls will be closed Nov. 25-26 for Thanksgiving.


Election day voting will be from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 7.

Registered voters can cast their vote at Buda City Hall, Kyle City Hall and Hays County Precinct 2.
