San Marcos City Council approved recommendations from City Manager Bert Lumbreras for two assistant city manager appointments at the Dec. 17 meeting.

Joe Pantalion will be filling a vacancy that will be left Jan. 3 once current Assistant City Manager Stever Parker leaves to start his new role as city manager in the city of Seguin, according to a press release sent by the city of San Marcos.

Pantalion formerly worked as assistant city manager for the city of Richardson. Pantalion has also worked for the city of Austin for over 21 years, where he served as director and deputy director of watershed protection and development, as well as interim assistant city manager.

Stephanie Reyes took over the assistant city manager role immediately following the City Council’s approval, filling the vacancy left by Collette Jamison’s retirement this past summer, according to the release.

Reyes has worked for the city of San Marcos for 18 years and has served as interim assistant city manager since August. She has also served as the city's chief of staff and assistant director of human resources.
