“Murder at the Movie Theatre”

Mama Merlot’s Speakeasy will host “Murder at the Movie Theatre: Murder Mystery at the Speakeasy.” Guests can solve a murder mystery and enjoy drinks and entertainment.

“Texas Parks: The Treasure We Share”

The Inspired Minds Art Center will feature an exhibition that showcases the beauty, diversity and spirit of Texas public lands. An opening reception will take place May 30.Summer in the Park

Presented by the San Marcos Performing Arts Association in partnership with the San Marcos Parks & Recreation and other city departments, San Marcos' longtime family-friendly concert series is returning for another summer in June. Guests can bring their lawn chairs and picnic blankets to see local artists perform at San Marcos Plaza Park every Thursday evening. The first concert will feature blues guitarist and singer Sue Foley.June Movie in the Park


Kyle Parks and Recreation will present a screening of “Inside Out 2” at Lake Kyle Park. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and can bring chairs or blankets, food and coolers. Leashed pets are welcome.Pop Punk’s Not Dead Fest

The Juneteenth Foundation will host its annual parade and walk through downtown San Marcos to commemorate the holiday. The walk will begin at the LBJ MLK Crossroads Memorial.

Juneteenth BBQ Cookoff Charity Fundraiser

The Juneteenth Foundation’s 31st annual charity fundraiser at Plaza Park will have barbecue competitions in categories including youth pork chops, brisket, chicken fajitas, beans, ribs and margaritas. The community is invited to enjoy the food, as well as art booths, snow cones and a live DJ.Movies in Your Park


San Marcos Parks and Recreation will host its annual series of movie screenings at parks throughout the city. The first night’s movie will be “Moana 2” at Plaza Park. Concessions will be available for purchase.Firecracker 5K Evening Run
