Presented by the San Marcos Performing Arts Association in partnership with the San Marcos Parks & Recreation and other city departments, San Marcos' longtime family-friendly concert series is returning for another summer in June. Guests can bring their lawn chairs and picnic blankets to see local artists perform at San Marcos Plaza Park every Thursday evening. The first concert will feature blues guitarist and singer Sue Foley.

The Juneteenth Foundation will host its annual parade and walk through downtown San Marcos to commemorate the holiday. The walk will begin at the LBJ MLK Crossroads Memorial.

The Juneteenth Foundation’s 31st annual charity fundraiser at Plaza Park will have barbecue competitions in categories including youth pork chops, brisket, chicken fajitas, beans, ribs and margaritas. The community is invited to enjoy the food, as well as art booths, snow cones and a live DJ.
