Santa's sleigh is set to land at the Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park on Dec. 1 from 4-9 p.m for the city's annual holiday celebration.

Pictures with Santa will begin at 4:15 p.m., and the line for photos will be cut off at 8:30 p.m. The rest of the evening will feature musical performances by schools throughout Hays CISD:
  • 4:15 p.m.: Wallace Middle School Mariachi
  • 4:30 p.m.: Kyle Elementary School
  • 4:45 p.m.: Blanco Vista Elementary
  • 5:00 p.m.: Science Hall Elementary School
  • 5:15 p.m.: Negley Elementary School
  • 5:30 p.m.: City of Kyle Baton Twirlers
  • 5:45 p.m.: Tobias Elementary School
  • 6:20 p.m.: Hays CISD Honor Choir
  • 6:35 p.m.: Hemphill Elementary School
  • 6:50 p.m.: Chapa Middle School
  • 7:05 p.m.: Barton Middle School
  • 7:20 p.m.: Wallace Middle School
  • 7:35 p.m.: Dahlstrom Middle School
  • 7:50 p.m.: Doral Academy of Texas in Buda
  • 8:05 p.m.: Lehman High School
  • 8:20 p.m.: Hays High School
  • 8:35 p.m.: Chapa Middle School Mariachi
The tree lighting ceremony will take place around 6 p.m., and the entire evening will feature on-site holiday, food and drink vendors.

Dec. 1 also marks the start of the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department's 25 Days of Christmas celebration with nearly a full month's worth of activities to get into the Christmas spirit.
  • Music Mondays: Dec. 5 and 12 will feature local vendors and free photos with Santa. Dec. 20 will have local vendors, holiday lights and music only.
  • Toys Tuesdays: The first three Tuesdays in December from 5-9 p.m. will have vendors, lights and music. Residents and community members are welcome to drop off a toy for a child in need.
  • Winter Wonderland Wednesdays: The parks and recreation department will host Winter Wonderland Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m. with vendors, lights and music.
  • Festive Fridays: Bailey Christian Studios will be on-site at the park to take professional photos with Santa.
  • Social Media Sundays: Stop by and share your photos with the hashtag #KyleParksandRecreation.
Local vendors, lights and holiday music will be on-site Thursdays and Saturdays as well.
