Several races for seats in the Texas House of Representatives were on voters' ballots this election. The following races cover parts of San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda and Dripping Springs. In all races, either the incumbent or political party holding the seat kept the district, according to unofficial election day results.

District 44

With all precincts reporting in Guadalupe and Gonzales counties, Republican Alan Schoolcraft won the race for state representative of District 44 with 57,278 votes. Democrat Eric Norman garnered 30,658 votes.

Some context

District 44 covers all of Guadalupe County and all of Gonzales County. Schoolcraft defeated incumbent John Kuempel for the Republican nomination in a May runoff election.


District 45

With all precincts reporting in Hays County, Democratic candidate and incumbent Erin Zwiener won the race for state representative of District 45 with 52,759 votes. Republican Tennyson G. Moreno received 40,228 votes.

Some context

District 45 covers most of Hays County. Incumbent Zwiener won the Democratic nomination in the March primary and has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2019.

In early voting, there were 103,988 ballots cast countywide, which represents 55.76% of Hays County's 186,492 registered voters.

District 73

With all precincts reporting in Comal County and Hays County, Republican Incumbent Carrie Isaac won the race for state representative of District 73 with 91,717 votes. Democrat Sally Duval garnered 36,525 votes.


Some context

District 73 covers all of Comal County and the western half of Hays County. Incumbent Isaac has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2023.

District 118

With all precincts reporting in Bexar County, Republican John Lujan won the race for state representative of District 118 with 39,131 votes, or 51.77%. Democrat Kristian Carranza gained 36,461 votes, or 48.23%.


Some context

District 118 covers the cities of Sandy Oaks, Elmendorf, Macdona, Somerset, Von Ormy; and portions of San Antonio, Cibolo, Converse, Elmendorf, Live Oak, Lytle, Macdona, Sandy Oaks, Schertz and Selma. Incumbent Lujan has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2016.

District 119

With all precincts reporting in Bexar County, Democrat Elizabeth Campos won the race for state representative of District 119 with 38,007 votes, or 63.67%. Republican Brandon Grable has 21,686 votes, or 36.33%.


Some context

District 119 represents San Antonio, Converse, Live Oak, Schertz, St. Hedwig and Universal City. Incumbent Campos has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2021.

District 121

With all precincts reporting in Bexar County, Republican Marc LaHood won the race for state representative of District 121 with 50,807 votes, or 52.58%. Democrat Laurel Jordan Swift has 45,816 votes, or 47.42%.

Some context

District 121 represents a large portion of North San Antonio and the incorporated cities of Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills and Olmos Park. LaHood beat incumbent Steve Allison during the Republican primary.

District 122

With all precincts reporting in Bexar County,, Republican Mark Dorazio won the race for state representative of District 122 with 63,796 votes, or 58.14%. Democrat Kevin Geary has 45,927 votes, or 41.86%.

Some context

District 122 covers the northeastern half of Bexar County. It includes most of Helotes, all of Grey Forest and some of Fair Oaks Ranch.
