Early voting results for the May 6 election show that most of Hays CISD's propositions within the $367 million bond are narrowly gaining approval.
This is the 10th and largest bond in HCISD history with a large focus on academics and growth with items like future schools, expansions, additional space for extracurriculars and more.
The propositions are as follows:
- Proposition A: Academics and growth ($208.81 million)
- Proposition B: Theater and fine arts, athletics and career and technical education ($102.86 million)
- Proposition C: Technology ($3.98 million)
- Proposition D: Outdoor multipurpose pavilions ($52.17 million)
If approved, the bond will not have a direct impact on the tax rate but the rise in property values could lead to higher bills for residents regardless.
