The latest polling data shows Jude Prather narrowly beating Mark Rockeymoore with 1,923 votes, or 50.42% for city council place 6.

Incumbent Mark Gleason gained 2,070 votes, or 54.13%, keeping challenger Zach Sambrano at bay for his place 5 seat.

Voter turnout in Hays County clocked in at 11.8%, or 18,259 voters out of 155,158 registered voters in the county.

Early returns from election day and early voting totals show San Marcos residents in city council member place 5 keeping incumbent Mark Gleason and electing Jude Prather to replace outgoing council member Melissa Derrick in place 6.

Gleason received 1,133 votes, or 59% of the total, to challenger Zachariah Sambrano who received 772 votes, or 41%.

Prather received 1,027 votes, or 54% of the total, to Mark Rockeymoore who was also vying to replace Derrick in place six. Rockeymoore received 871 votes, or 46% of the vote.

Voter turnout in Hays County clocked in at 9,683 voters out of 155,158 registered voters in the county, or 6.2%.
