A massive parks proposition in Hays County totaling $75 million in bond issuance has passed with more than 70% of the vote.
Proposition A, which seeks to improve, construct, renovate, equip and acquire land and interests in land, buildings and facilities for park and recreational purposes throughout Hays County, garnered 71,502 votes, or 69.54% of the total.
The proposition's passage signifies a major commitment by Hays County residents toward the area's public recreation areas.
Results are updated as of 10:27 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.
