San Jacinto College partners with Texas State University for co-enrollment program
Students at San Jacinto College will be able to attain a four-year degree through the college’s recent partnership with Texas State University.
San Jacinto College signed a co-enrollment agreement May 5 with Texas State University, according to a May 5 news release from the college.

Texas State, Coursera offer free career certificates to students, alumni
Texas State University has started offering professional certificates and micro-credentials through a new partnership with Coursera, a global online learning platform, the university announced.
As of May 1, access to Coursera’s Career Academy, which includes 81 professional certificate programs, became available at no cost to Texas State students, faculty and staff with a txstate.edu email address. Alumni can also participate through the Texas State Alumni Association.

SMHS upgrades kick off in June, $175K under budget
Improvements at San Marcos High School will be underway in June as part of a 2023 bond project.
The project, which district officials said will come in under budget, will include three phases of renovations, starting with more parking and a band practice pad.

Hays CISD starts bond projects, places portables at 2 schools to make room
Hays CISD officials will be moving portables located at Tom Green and Kyle elementary schools to Sunfield Elementary and McCormick Middle School, following board approval May 19. The action comes as the district prepares to start expansion and renovation projects at Tom Green and Kyle elementaries.
