Due to inclement weather anticipated in the area, San Marcos CISD announced they will close all campuses and district offices on Jan. 21.

The closure also includes the cancellation of all after-school and UIL events, according to a Jan. 19 announcement made by the district.

Current situation

Central Texas has been placed under a Cold Weather Advisory until noon on Wednesday. Wind chills are anticipated to reach lows of 10 to 15 degrees across the I-35 corridor. The region has also been placed under a Winter Storm Warning until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, with heavy precipitation expected and snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches, according to the National Weather Service.
