Seven Hays CISD campuses are set to get new assistant principals for the 2024-25 school year, following the board of trustees’ unanimous approval of the new hires during a special meeting June 6.

The new hires are all already HCISD employees, according to Chief Communications Officer Tim Savoy.

  • Missy Owens, Science Hall Elementary
  • Jenne Brauchle, Tobias Elementary
  • Sara Sparks and Stephanie Carter, Simon Middle School
  • Yesenia Flores, Lehman High School
Savoy added that a few elementary and secondary assistant principal positions are still open. These positions, and other teacher or administration positions, are open to external candidates and can be found here.

What else?

The board of trustees also discussed the fiscal year 2024-25 budget during the June 6 meeting. Despite a $6.2 million projected budget shortfall, no staff will be cut, but some positions are being repurposed or reassigned to other campuses.
