Nearly one year after construction of the new Hays CISD Academic Support Center began, the Hays CISD board of trustees held its first board meeting at the new center May 13.

How we got here

The $57.1 million center located at 21003 I-35 in Kyle was approved as part of the 2022 bond and:
  • Houses administrative personnel in one central location, including the district's communications, curriculum and instruction, finance, human resources, operations, special education, superintendent, and technology offices
  • Includes a multipurpose room for board of trustees meetings, professional development and other staff training opportunities
  • Will feature a public voting area
Per the bond proposal, the center also frees up space at Live Oak Academy for its campus expansion—approved in a 2021 bond—by moving the curriculum and instruction department from Live Oak to the ASC.

What you need to know

Board of trustees meetings, which were previously held at the Historic Buda Elementary campus, will now be held at the ASC. The Historic Buda campus will be used as an alternate meeting location if necessary.

Chief Communications Officer Tim Savoy said administrative personnel will begin moving into the offices the last week of May and are aiming to be finished before July 4.

A quick note
