San Marcos Academy hosted its first Academy Nights gala on March 22 at the Embassy Suites Hotel to raise money for students' education experience, fund academic initiatives and strengthen the financial aid fund.

Over $217,000 was raised at the event through a silent and live auction. Approximately $40,000 of the funding was donated to the Military Science Program at the academy, according to a news release.

What they're saying

Several people spoke at the event, including SMA parents, President Brian N Guenther and Chief Prayer Officer Colin Millar.

“And today, students and families from across six counties make their way out to our campus every morning and participate in learning and growing and sharing in the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ,” Guenther said.

Over 300 guests attended the fundraising event for the private Christian school, and enjoyed a meal and live music during the event.

“One of the greatest investments that can be made in the whole world is into the Christian education of our children and our grandchildren,” Millar said.
