On Sept. 22 the district experienced a pay schedule delay for employees who get paid monthly. According to the SMCISD, the district submitted payroll information Sept. 21, but due to a file-size error, the files were not submitted successfully until after its 6 p.m. deadline from Frost Bank. The issue caused a delay in payments being made to employees.
As of the afternoon of Sept. 22, 75% of staff had received their paychecks, with the remainder anticipated to receive payment Sept. 25, according to the district.
A public forum will take place at the meeting before board members move into closed session. The special meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Criminal Justice Classroom at San Marcos High School, located at 2601 Rattler Road in San Marcos.
