A Feb. 23 news release from the district issued states that drying measures are still in place at Fuentes, Hemphill and Tom Green Elementary schools and that classes will remain 100% virtual for the remainder of the week.
The work is being done mainly to ensure moisture from broken pipes is completely dried, including inside the walls of the campuses.
The release states that the district is working with its insurance company to assess damage costs to buildings.
"We do not yet have a total cost estimate," the release states. "However, we anticipate that we will only be required to pay no more than one deductible of $25,000 for the entire winter storm event. And, we believe that deductible will likely be reimbursable through federal or state disaster relief money."
In-person classes at all three campuses are scheduled to resume March 1.
