Get ready Rattler Nation: San Marcos CISD hires powerhouse football coach to lead as head coach and athletic director

San Marcos High School’s football team will be led by a veteran coach from a Texas powerhouse program.

John Walsh will join the Rattlers program after 14 years at Denton Guyer, where he took his teams to four state championship games. The SMCISD board of trustees hired Walsh at its May 18 meeting. Walsh will also serve as the school’s athletic director.

San Marcos CISD postpones in-person graduation until July 17



San Marcos CISD Superintendent Michael Cardona said in-person graduations will be postponed until July 17, citing coronavirus concerns.
