In a statement, SMCISD Superintendent Michael Cardona announced that the district will continue offering curbside meals at the designated locations.
Instructional packets for students will also be available at the curbside locations on Mondays and Wednesdays. The district has also partnered with the San Marcos Daily Record to place newsstands at various schools in the district, allowing parents to pick up instructional packets at any time.
“We have built systems and structures to deliver at-home learning for the time being,” Cardona said. “While we recognize this system is not perfect, we believe it will allow us to successfully complete the year while we focus on our planning for the reopening of school in August and restrategizing to make up for any lost learning in the current year.”
Though Hays CISD has not announced it will be closed for the rest of the school year, the district will remain closed, per the governor’s executive order.
