Aug. 27 will be the first day of school for San Marcos CISD students.

The district's board of trustees on Monday approved the 2018-19 school year calendar, which gives students four early release days and 25 vacation days.

Students will have Nov. 19-24 off for Thanksgiving break, and Dec. 21, 2018-Jan. 5, 2019 for Christmas break. They will have one week off for spring break, March 18-22, 2019.

Students holidays also include Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday and Memorial Day.

Bad weather makeup days will be Oct. 19 and Feb. 15, 2019.

Graduation will be held May 31, 2019.

Teachers will report to work on Aug. 14.
