There's a new chophouse on the block: JParks Saloon & Standard is now JParks Chophouse & Saloon. Owner and local restaurateur Jeff Parks, alongside his team, will be rolling out a new fall menu to accompany the new name, which will feature carnivorous cuisine, such as steaks of various cuts, chops, bacon-wrapped filets and more.

The restaurant is no longer a phone-free zone, and kids are allowed until 4 p.m., after which it is adults only.

Parks is envisioning this as a metamorphosis after a few months of business and feedback from the community.

"We want to be the standard and redefine the 'slow food' movement," Parks said.
