763-acre subdivision on Kyle outskirts seeks preliminary plan approval

A long-planned residential and commercial development on the outskirts of Kyle took a key step forward this April by seeking preliminary plan approval.

Pecan Woods, a proposed subdivision, returned to Kyle’s Planning and Zoning Commission on April 8 for preliminary plan approval of specific development phases, following the establishment of a public improvement district, or PID, in August 2016, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

Although the property lies within Kyle’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ, it is governed by an existing development agreement. While the PID and development agreement has been in place for several years, construction has not yet begun.
