Austin opens community shelters to provide warmth during winter conditions

Several schools and community centers throughout Austin are opening as shelters in response to the winter conditions rolling through Central Texas on Feb. 3.

Five shelters at area recreation centers are set to operate 24 hours a day, while two local schools will serve as shelters Feb. 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Frisco ISD schools are closed in wake of hazardous weather

All Frisco ISD schools are closed Thursday, Feb. 3, and will remain closed Friday, Feb. 4, due to hazardous road conditions and winter weather, according to an update from the FISD website.
