The city of San Marcos will host a distribution of free take-home COVID-19 test kits Jan. 17 at San Marcos High School, 2601 Rattler Road, from 4:30-8 p.m. or until supplies run out.

Supplies are limited and tests are intended only for use by individuals experiencing coronavirus-related symptoms or who require a negative COVID-19 test to return to work, according to a city press release.

Gates to the high school will open at 4 p.m. The San Marcos Emergency Management department is providing the AccessBio CareStart COVID-19 antigen rapid diagnostic tests.

Any results obtained from the take-home tests should be reported to the Hays County Local Health Department online at www.hayscountytx.com/departments/local-health-department, according to the release.

The nonprofit Community Organizations Active in Disaster is assisting in the distribution drive.
