The Hays County Local Health Department reported one COVID-19-related fatality and 653 new confirmed cases Jan. 11, bringing the total number of active cases up to 5,893.

There are 20 individuals hospitalized for COVID-19, of which 13 are unvaccinated.

Hays CISD reported 77 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 10 and 128 on Jan. 11, bringing the total number of active cases to 234.



San Marcos CISD reported 120 cases from Jan. 10-11, though the total does not include Jan. 4-7 test results.




Hays County will be offering walk-up COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinics at the HCISD Old Transportation Building, located at 21003 I-35, Kyle, from 2-7 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat.-Sun. from Jan. 15-21.

There will also be a clinic Jan. 16 at the Hays County Historic Courthouse, located at 111 E. San Antonio Road, San Marcos, from noon-8 p.m.
