Democrat Jimmy Alan Hall, a Precinct 3 Hays County commissioner candidate, said he is consulting with his attorney and will likely request a recount for the Nov. 6 midterm election. Hall received 10,010 votes, or 49.89 percent of the total ballots cast, according to unofficial election results. Incumbent Republican Lon Shell garnered 10,056 votes, or 50.11 percent of the vote. Hall told Community Impact Newspaper that he is looking into voting irregularities with his legal team and has not yet conceded the race. Shell did not immediately respond for comment.
