Why are you running? I am running because serving people is my calling. I care and want to help people. My entire career has been about serving. I believe in justice. I believe in treating people fair, equal, compassionately and with dignity and respect. I am committed to upholding the United States Constitution and our laws. I have served my country by working for the United States Air Force and for the state of Texas. My commitment to serve is steadfast. My desire to be your justice of the peace is one of caring and to do the right thing for the citizens in Precinct 5.

As the county grows, what do you believe is the greatest challenge facing the office of the justice of the
peace? Youth and teens are a special focus for me. A high school is being built in Precinct 5. With the rapid growth in the area, a new high school and the redistricting that comes with that will bring unique challenges. I want to rise above those challenges. I plan to work closely with school counselors and resource officers to build relationships with the youth. Attentiveness may help them to stay on the right side of justice.

What would be your top priorities as justice of the peace? Serving is all about the people. My top priority is to bring the court back to you, the “People’s Court.” Office and court hours will change from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to extend hours, plus evening court will be held to help folks with their busy lives. Business operations will be streamlined in order to spend more time with you. You deserve quality customer service and to be heard. For some, court can be stressful, confusing and intimidating, especially if it is their first time attending court. User-friendly, step-by-step information and forms on what is needed for court and how the court system works will be added to the website. I want to help and serve you!
