Hays County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to lift the burn ban in the county following a weekend of heavy rain. Fire Marshal Clint Browning said four remote weather stations were installed throughout the county last week and were able to capture rainfall totals during Hurricane Harvey. He said the county received an average of 6 inches of rain over the weekend, with some parts receiving more than 10 inches of rain. Browning warned fire trucks may have difficulty responding to an uncontrolled fire in muddy fields and advised residents to take caution.
