San Marcos City Council holds a workshop tonight.

San Marcos City Council will discuss the city’s $25.02 million disaster recovery grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at the workshop. The city’s engineering department has been working to determine the feasibility of infrastructure projects that could make the city more flood-resilient, and the findings of that study will be presented Monday night. The city of Buda is seeking input on how to improve downtown.

A survey launched at the beginning of April asks city residents questions related to city facilities and community needs related to downtown. Residents can take the survey online here.

The Hays County Commissioners Court meets Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The meeting’s agenda includes an item related to an agreement between the county, city of Kyle and Walton Development Group for the construction of Pecan Woods, a new subdivision in southeast Kyle. The Commissioners Court will also discuss in executive session an economic development incentive that could bring a magnet production company and 300 jobs to the city of San Marcos. The Kyle Planning and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday.

The commission will “receive testimony, comments and written evidence” from the public regarding amendments to the city’s 2010 comprehensive plan. The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 100 W. Center St., Kyle. The meeting agenda can be viewed here.

San Marcos City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission hold two joint workshops this week.

The council and commission will discuss the city’s new land development code, dubbed Code SMTX, at two meetings: April 25 and 28.
