1. Hwy. 123 overpass
The Texas Department of Transportation is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. As of early June, the contractor had completed construction of access roads on either side of the new overpass and was working on building retaining walls and bridge columns. 2. FM 2770 resurfacing
TxDOT is resurfacing FM 2770 in Kyle from FM 150 to FM 1626 to improve driving conditions in that area. Weather conditions may affect the project completion date. Timeline: May 16-late July Cost: $840,000 Funding sources: TxDOT
3. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass
The city of San Marcos partnered with TxDOT to build an overpass over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks on Aquarena Springs Drive in San Marcos. When completed, the overpass will feature two travel lanes in each direction as well as access roads on both sides of the overpass. The contractor was working on widening the road as of early June. 4. Goforth Road improvements
Work on Goforth Road in Kyle, which will be expanded to include three lanes in some areas and two lanes in other areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April. As of early June, the contractor had begun working on placement of a storm drain system throughout the project area. Timeline: April 2016-March 2017 Cost: $6.6 million Funding sources: city of Kyle
5. Marketplace Avenue extension
Construction on the extension of Marketplace Avenue—from its former endpoint at City Lights Drive to Burleson Road in Kyle—was completed in May.
