Barber Factory, located at 212 W. San Antonio St. in San Marcos, is officially under new ownership.

Bernardino Torres, Texas State and San Marcos High School alumnus, has taken over as the sole owner after initially investing in the business from the beginning. Torres, a real estate investor who runs several businesses, has now assumed Barber Factory’s managerial responsibilities.

Torres said he aims to make the barbershop a family-friendly space with extended hours to accommodate busy work schedules.

“Sometimes a client will need a last minute haircut for a special occasion and at Barber Factory we will make it happen,” Torres said in the email. “We will open early or stay late if needed. As a kid, it was always difficult for me to find time for a haircut.”

While clients can expect the same quality service and atmosphere, Torres said the new ownership means “the sky’s the limit.”
