Roxie's, a Salt Lick Family Restaurant, is set to open this spring at Buda Mill & Grain Co.
The details
Named in honor of The Salt Lick BBQ owner Scott Roberts' grandmother Roxanne, Roxie's will lean into The Salt Lick's foundation of community and connection. With locations in Driftwood, Round Rock and the Austin and Dallas airports, The Salt Lick BBQ was opened in 1967 by Roberts' great-grandmother Bettie Howard.
According to a news release, Roxie's will be open for lunch and dinner with a menu focused on family recipes. Guests can expect to see appetizers like pimento cheese crocks and deviled eggs topped with fried chicken bites; hearty, family-style entrées including crispy fried chicken, chicken-fried steak and char-grilled steak; and a selection of dessert pies inspired by Roxie’s original recipes.
“Roxie’s has been a dream of mine for the last ten years,” Roberts, a former student of Buda Elementary School, said in the news release. “We are thrilled to launch our first new restaurant in the Buda community.”
Roxie's will open at 308 Main Street, the former site of Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ which closed last May.
