A new children's learning and daycare center is now open in San Marcos.

Little Leaders Childcare Center opened on Dec. 9 in what was previously a Texas Preparatory School campus.

Owner and director Kim Perez relocated the center from Kyle because of planned road construction near their original location at 1501 Bunton Creek Road, Ste. 102. The center's teachers remodeled their own classrooms in the new space, which now offers pre-K in addition to infant and toddler care services.

Although the center is open, Perez said the first day of school will be Jan. 6.
