Two years after Half Price Books closed its doors in San Marcos, the city is getting a new used bookstore. 2nd Chance Books is slated to open in October.

The Lubbock-based shop was founded by Daniel Mull, who owns the San Marcos location. 2nd Chance Books will take donations for its used book inventory. Mull said donation bins will be set up around San Marcos. He also said there will be a bookstore cat named Fable.
