Rates increase along 6 toll lanes across the Austin metro

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, the agency responsible for managing and collecting toll fares on many of the express lanes in the Austin area, increased toll rates Jan. 1.

Originally approved during an October Mobility Authority board meeting, the majority of toll collection points will see between a 2%-3% increase—the result of recent years inflation, according to a news release from the agency.

Over 600 homes coming to Georgetown, Liberty Hill in 2025

NexMetro Communities is set to finish construction in June on more than 600 homes in Williamson County.

Tex-Mex restaurant Chuy's opens newest location in Hutto

The moment many Hutto residents have been waiting for has arrived, as Tex-Mex restaurant Chuy’s opens Jan. 21.

The restaurant, which has over 100 locations throughout the country, serves burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, tacos and more. Customers will also find margaritas, mojitos, martinis and Texas-sized cocktails.

Texas senator proposes multibillion-dollar plan to solve state water shortages

Texas communities are grappling with water shortages and aging infrastructure as people and businesses move to the state in droves.

Sen. Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, has a plan to inject billions of dollars into Texas’ water sector, and he said he has the support to do so this year. He wants to build on a one-time, $1 billion appropriation to the Texas Water Fund, which Texas voters approved in 2023.

Retail development under construction at FM 1103, Turning Stone in Cibolo

A new retail development, located at FM 1103 near Turning Stone, is making its way to Cibolo.

Costco Wholesale eyes New Braunfels for new location

A Costco may be on the horizon for New Braunfels residents.

In an email to Community Impact, Costco's Regional Marketing Manager Kerry Carbullido said they would be opening a location in New Braunfels at some point in the future, but do not yet have an opening time frame.
