A project to connect Eagles Nest Street to Chisholm Trail in Round Rock will begin construction early next year, according to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. This is the first phase of a two-phase project.

About the project

Phase one includes an almost 1-mile, four-lane road section connecting the streets on either side of I-35, from Cypress Boulevard to North Mays Street. The project plans also show a bridge crossing over Chandler Branch of Brushy Creek as well as one over the highway.

The first phase of the project went to bid Oct. 1 and is estimated to begin construction within three to four months, according to city documents.

Other project features include a closed drainage system, water utility extension, lighting and landscaping.

The project filing shows an estimated cost of $6.2 million and a completion date of August 2025.
