Round Rock City Council approved the purchase of land from North Paloma Lake Development Inc. to facilitate improvements to CR 112 and as a potential location for future city facilities June 8.

The $1.63 million deal allows city officials to purchase land for a potential future fire station and make improvements to CR 112. Originally, the city agreed to pay $173,002 for the 0.319-acre stretch of right of way required for a future improvement to CR 112 to address growth and increased traffic. However, after further negotiations with the property owner, city officials agreed to instead purchase the total 4.153 parcel for the higher amount. Transportation Director Gary Hudder said that following the approval, city staff would begin working to annex the property.

This project will be paid for by the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp.
