Chisholm Trail Road, south of RM 620, will experience lane closures Dec. 6-8 due to the Texas Department of Transportation project underway in the area, according to the city of Round Rock.
The street will be reduced to one lane nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with TxDOT crews working in the area. A notification from the city states that this may cause some delays for drivers.
Once completed, the $27.4 million project at Chisholm Trail Road and Lake Creek Drive in Round Rock will add a roundabout, eastbound and westbound frontage roads, and bicycle lanes to RM 620. The roundabout will be centered around the Union Pacific Railroad crossing at Chisholm Trail, with frontage roads between Lake Creek Drive and Chisholm Trail on either side of RM 620.
Work has begun on the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad crossing, as well as retaining walls near Chisholm Trail Road. With the track switch from Deep Wood Drive to Lake Creek Drive complete, the project has moved into Phase 2. Total completion of the roundabout is set for summer 2022, weather permitting.
