One day after officially accepting the Texas Rangers as its Triple-A affiliate, Round Rock Express introduced its new manager, Kenny Holmberg, according to a news release.

For the first season reuniting with the Rangers, the Round Rock staff is pitching coach Bill Simas, hitting coach Chase Lambin, athletic trainer Carlos Olivas, and strength and conditioning coach Wade Lamont.

Holmberg is making his Triple-A coaching debut after spending the last 13 years with the Rangers organization. Last year, he worked at the Alternate Training Site in Arlington with Rangers prospects, in addition to the Fall Development League in Arizona. Round Rock is the fourth club Holmberg has managed within the Rangers farm system, the news release stated.

While leading clubs to the postseason, Holmberg accumulated a 207-172 (0.546) record. He first joined the Texas organization as the DSL Rangers coach in 2009 before serving as the coach in 2012 for the club’s High-A affiliate in Myrtle Beach. Along with his managerial position for the Express, he will also serve as the Ranger’s major league infield coordinator.
