The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department will host a job fair April 1 at the Rock'N'River Water Park from 4:30-6 p.m.

Summer job opportunities for those age 15 and older will be available. Among 350 available positions are lifeguards, pool attendants, swim instructors and summer camp counselors, according to the RRPARD.

The largest number of positions available is for lifeguards. Out of the 350 positions available, the 120 lifeguards hired will be provided discounted training. Lifeguards will be eligible for a $125 cash bonus, and scholarships are available to cover the cost of training classes.

For those interested in lifeguarding but unsure of their swimming skills, the RRPARD has a solution. Those hired as pool attendants may undergo a transition program, in which they are paid to learn to swim. Once competent swimming skills are acquired, they may transition into the lifeguard position, according to the city.
