About the business
Owned by Carolyn Lane, a doula who previously provided services through ATX Doulas and has over 10 years of experience, The Cosmic Egg is intended to be a place of safety for women in all life stages to connect with their yoga practice, network with others in their community and learn about life prenatal, postnatal and beyond.
In addition to these services, Lane has a small apothecary onsite, where she stocks goods from small vendors like BellaVee crystal candles, Earthy Enchantments, and Wisdom in Wildflowers.
In their own words
Lane said she hopes her business will foster a multigenerational community of women who can learn from and support one another.
"We used to be so village-oriented, where the young would learn from the old, and the old from the young," Lane said. "What I want to do is bring that connection back, because we have a tendency to hyperfocus on our age group, or where we are in life."
What else?
Lane said she hopes The Cosmic Egg will also be a resource for nursing mothers in the downtown area. Should they need a place to nurse their child while out and about or running errands, she said her facility is available for their use.
What's next?
A grand opening for The Cosmic Egg will be held in June, Lane said.
