A bond-funded expansion to the Rock 'N River Water Park is open for the summer season.
What you need to know
City staff and officials held a ribbon cutting for the newly expanded waterpark May 22, ahead of Memorial Day weekend. The facility officially opened for the summer season May 28.
About the project
At nearly double the size of the first phase of the water park, the project added an action river, cabanas with a private pool and additional parking. The $19.3 million project was included in voter-approved 2023 bond improvements in Old Settlers Park.
The big picture
The Old Settlers Park buildout project began in September 2024, and park projects such as the Lakeview Pavilion, relocation of the park's tennis complex and addition of pickleball courts have been completed. The city is in the process of building the Athletic Performance Center, which will also house the Parks & Recreation Department.
