About the project
The project is a continuation of previous work to widen the road in response to anticipated traffic in the area, according to former Director of Transportation Gary Hudder. It will continue road work up to the Amazon facility.
There were 10 bidders for the project. Round Rock City Council approved the contract for $6,774,712.15 at the July 25 meeting.
How we got here
The widening of the northern section of Chisholm Trail Road is just one of several projects completed on the roadway in recent years, from the construction of a roundabout and overpass at its southernmost intersection near RM 620, to improvements made in conjunction with the Heritage Trail West project.
