What happened
The new play structure opened to the public in the 12.52-acre park in July as part of an effort to improve city parks. In the same announcement from the city, it was shared that shade structures had also been constructed over playground equipment in Kinningham and Lake Creek parks.
How we got here
In February, Round Rock City Council approved the use of $235,542.19 in self-financed construction funds to demolish the old play structure, purchase a new one from Whirlix Design and have it installed in the park for public use.
Per the city, the previous playground had outlived its useful life and warranted replacement.
