Enrollment for English as a second language, or ESL, classes will be held at the Round Rock Public Library on Jan. 3 and 4.

What you need to know

New students wishing to register for the spring course must attend an in-person sign-up in the library’s ESL classroom from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

The classes are entirely free and include courses for beginner-, intermediate- and advanced-level English speakers. Classes are limited to 18 students per session.

Should classes reach capacity, those remaining will be placed on a waitlist.

A schedule of ESL classes can be found on the library’s website.

Also of note

In addition to numerous ESL classes offered, the library hosted a U.S. Citizenship Ceremony for 25 individuals in 2023.

The 66,000-square-foot library building, funded by a 2013 voter-approved bond, took nearly a decade to complete. January marks the one-year anniversary of the new building.

Last year’s grand opening saw a total of 11,000 people and resulted in a 30% increase in visitors and checkouts, according to a library newsletter.
