The city of Round Rock on Aug. 29 launched a new system allowing customers to select from a variety of payment methods for their utility bills.
The new payment methods accepted are American Express, Discover, PayPal, Walmart Pay and eCheck, according to an announcement from the city.
A new payment portal has also been created, replacing the previous payment portal at www.rrtxwater.com. The new portal is accessible at www.roundrocktexas.gov/paymybill. Customers who have utility payments set to autopay must reregister with the new system and re-establish that they want to participate in automatic payments, the announcement stated. Payment information will also need to be re-entered because the city cannot transfer the encrypted payment information.
Customers who pay their utility bills via phone, in person, Automated Clearing House draft, bank bill pay, one-time payments or by mail will not be impacted, the city stated.
