Round Rock residents reelected Rene Flores for City Council Place 2, unofficial election night polling data shows.

As of 9:52 p.m. with all polling locations reporting, 4,282 of 2,608 ballots were cast for Flores, representing 60.91% of the vote and defeat for opponent Caitlin Leggett, who garnered 1,674 votes.

Flores was elected to Place 2 in May 2016 and reelected in May 2019, according to the city. He was elected mayor pro tem in December 2020.

He is a 24-year Round Rock resident and is active in local nonprofits such as Round Rock ISD Partners In Education, Workforce Solutions Rural Capital and YMCA Central Texas, as well as Chair of the Finance Council for St. William Catholic Church. He is a vice president-commercial lender for Amplify Credit Union.
