Resolutions calling a general election for May 7 were approved by Round Rock City Council on Feb. 10 to elect members to the council for Place 2 and Place 6.

Filing to be on the ballot opened Jan. 19 and runs through 5 p.m. on Feb. 18. As of Feb. 10, only the incumbents, Place 2 Council Member Hilda Montgomery and Place 5 Mayor Pro Tem Rene Flores, have filed for candidacy, according to the city.

Council also approved an agreement to contract with Travis County to conduct the election in the part of the city that overlaps with the county.

Early voting for the May 7 election will run from April 25-May 3 at polling locations designated by both Travis and Williamson Counties. Times and locations for early voting are forthcoming.

Voters will be able to cast their ballot from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on election day with polling locations designated by the two counties.
