Due to severe winter weather conditions expected Feb. 3, Round Rock city facilities will be closed for the day, and some city services will be impacted.

Services that will be impacted include Round Rock Refuse pickup, public transportation, municipal court and utility bill payments, according to the city.

Trash pickup for Feb. 3 will be canceled with the new pickup schedule forthcoming from the city, and municipal court dates for that morning will be rescheduled. Payments for utility bills will not be able to be made in person but can be facilitated by calling 855-894-2392 or going to http://rrtxwater.com. Deposit boxes are also located at City Hall, 221 E. Main St., at the corner of Bagdad Avenue and Sheppard Street.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning Feb. 1 for multiple Texas counties, including Travis and Williamson counties, from 3 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 3. Weather conditions such as extreme icing with a mix of freezing rain and sleet are expected. Ice is expected to accumulate between 1/10 and 1/4 inch with up to 1/2 inch of sleet expected in the Hill Country. Winds may reach speeds of up to 35 miles per hour, producing windchills as low as single digits. The NWS storm warning also states that extended time spent outdoors without dressing in layers may result in hypothermia.
