The reappointment of Place 2 Round Rock City Council member Rene Flores as mayor pro tem and associate municipal judges Sandra Fitzpatrick and Lucas Wilson were approved by Council at its June 10 meeting.

Terms for Wilson and Fitzpatrick expire in June 2021. Both asked to be considered for reappointment when notified of their terms’ upcoming expiration, according to emails included in the complete meeting packet. A letter of recommendation from presiding municipal judge Alan M. McGraw was also included in the packet, in which he stated the two associate municipal judges have been “great assets” for the city’s court system.

Flores was nominated for reappointment by Mayor Craig Morgan.

“I've asked the mayor pro tem to continue in that role for the next year,” Morgan said. “He has, I don’t know if he graciously accepted it, he has accepted it.”

The mayor pro tem is a member of council who is selected to perform mayoral duties in the event that the mayor himself is absent or indisposed.
