A local women’s social organization, New Neighbors of Greater Round Rock, celebrated 45 years of community building May 9.

The details

Founded in 1978 by a group of young mothers who met while visiting in a park with their children, the group has since grown to nearly 200 members.

The organization hosts monthly luncheons and offers a variety of activities for members, including 30 interest groups such as book clubs, gardening clubs, needle work classes. New Neighbors also hosts events to explore art, tour local attractions and provide volunteer work.

At the heart of the organization is friendship, according to the group’s website. New Neighbors welcomes women from throughout Williamson County, and also has a few members from Travis County.
