Round Rock Parks and Recreation, in partnership with The Voice Inc., will be sponsoring the annual Juneteenth Festival at Old Settlers Park June 14-15 near the Lakeview Pavilion and festival area.

Now a nationally recognized holiday, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of slavery in the state of Texas on June 19, 1865.

The local celebration, held annually for nearly two decades in Round Rock, will include a barbecue taste-off and free, family-friendly music entertainment, featuring artists like Paul Wall and Lloyd.

Tickets for the barbecue tasting on Friday are $10, which includes tastings from five different pits. There will be live music on both nights of the festival. Parking is also $10.
